Nova Scotia is a beautiful maritime province on Canada’s east coast, known for its stunning coastlines, welcoming communities, and high quality of life.  With a strong economy and growing demand for skilled workers, the province of Nova Scotia is an ideal place to live, work, and study.

The NSNP is a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which means the province of Nova Scotia can nominate those who meet specific criteria to apply for permanent residence in Canada.  The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is designed to attract skilled individuals, international graduates, entrepreneurs, and other immigrants who can contribute to Nova Scotia’s economy and integrate successfully into the local community.

Key NSNP Streams

Nova Scotia offers several immigration streams under the NSNP, each targeting a different category of applicants:

  • Skilled Worker Stream:  For international workers and students recently graduated with the skills needed by Nova Scotia.
  • Occupation in Demand Stream:  For workers with experience in specific jobs that are in high demand in the province, such as healthcare, skilled trades, or transport.
  • Critical Construction Worker Pilot:  Only for those in the construction sector who hold a job offer from a Nova Scotia’s employer, under specific approved NOCs.
  • International Graduates in Demand Stream:  It targets recent graduates, who studied in fields like healthcare or early childhood education.
  • International Graduates Entrepreneur Stream: It targets recent graduates from a recognized Nova Scotia post-secondary institution, who started or bought their own business in Nova Scotia and have operated it for at least one year.
  • Entrepreneur Stream:  For experienced businesspeople, who started or bought their own business in Nova Scotia and have operated it for at least one year.
  • Physician Stream:  This category supports the hiring of international physicians for the Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and the Izaak Walton Killam Health Centre (IWK).
  • Labour Market Priorities for Physicians Stream:  It targets physicians in the federal Express Entry pool with an approved offer from NSHA or IWK and a Letter of Interest from the Labour, Skills and Immigration department (LSI).
  • Labour Market Priorities Stream:  It targets candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool who hold a Letter of Interest from the Labour, Skills and Immigration department (LSI).
  • Experience Express Entry Stream:  For highly skilled individuals, who are already in the federal Express Entry pool, and with at least one year of experience in an occupation at TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3.
  • Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot:  For candidates, who hold a Letter of Interest (August 28th 2024) from the Labour, Skills and Immigration department (LSI).  This is different than the Labour Market Priorities Stream and it’s available for Pharmacists (NOC 31120) and Pharmacy Technicians (NOC 32124).

Why Choose NSNP?
