About Me
Legal Assistant to Law Clerk
Born in the beautiful island of Jamaica, the family immigrated to England for a better life, and later was invited by a family member residing in Canada to relocate. I had an interest in law and enrolled in a legal assistant course and later took the law clerk’s course. I enjoyed working in various areas of law: civil litigation plaintiff/defence), business law, and employment law.
Changing from to Immigration Law
After over 20+ years in civil law, I decided to change to immigration law. There was a need in my community for honest and credible consultants, and I decided to become one of these individuals. I received my academic training from Herzing College with two diplomas: Immigration Case Manager and Immigration Consultant. I obtained my Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation from the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC). As a clerk one of my responsibilities was assisting in training junior lawyers on transitioning to the practical side of law by mentoring. I took the Case Manager course to assist in assimilating into immigration, this was before the college implemented the mentoring program
