If you received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in June 2025 — congratulations! Now it's time to prepare and submit a complete and accurate permanent residence application before your August 2025 deadline.

Here’s a straightforward checklist to help guide you through the process:

🔹 1. ID & Civil Status Documents

Ensure you include the following:

  • Valid passport(s) with at least 6 months remaining
  • Digital photo that meets IRCC’s specifications
  • Civil status proof: marriage, divorce, or birth certificates
  • Legal name change documents if applicable

🔹 2. Language Test Results & Education

Language:

  • Upload your original language test results (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF)
  • Must be valid (taken within the last 2 years)

Education:

  • If you studied in Canada: Canadian diploma or degree
  • If you studied outside Canada:
    • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report
    • Degree/diploma and transcripts

🔹 3. Work Experience Proof

To support your claimed work history:

·       Employer reference letters on company letterhead with job title, duties, salary, and dates of employment

·       Supporting documents such as pay stubs, T4s, NOAs

·       For self-employed individuals: contracts, invoices, and CRA notices of assessment

·       If applicable, provide a brief Letter of Explanation (LOE) for unusual work arrangements (e.g. remote, overlapping jobs)

🔹 4. Proof of Funds (If Required)

Skip this section if you're applying under CEC or have a full-time Canadian job offer.

Everyone else (like FSW applicants without an offer) needs:

  • 6 months of bank statements + a bank letter
  • LOE for large deposits (≥ CAD 10,000)
  • Keep those funds liquid and available

🔹 5. Police Certificates

  • Required for any country you've lived in for 6+ months since age 18
  • Apply early — they can take time

🔹 6. Letters of Explanation & Relationship Proof

Use LOEs to explain:

  • Name variations, employment gaps, or any profile inconsistencies
  • Source of funds (if submitting financial proof)

If you're married or in a common-law relationship, include:

  • Marriage certificate or completed IMM form for common-law status

🔹 7. Final Upload Tips

Before you hit submit:

  • PDFs must be clear and under 4MB
  • Name files in a consistent format: LastName_FirstName_DocumentType
  • Save a copy of your entire application and confirmation page — just in case

🔥 Bonus: BOWP (Bridging Open Work Permit) Tips

You may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit if:

  • You’ve received your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR)
  • Your current permit will expire in 4 months or less
  • You still hold valid worker status or include a restoration application

⚠️ Important: Double-Check for Completeness

Incomplete applications may be refused without a refund. Take the time to carefully review every document and ensure your application meets all IRCC requirements.
