If you overstay your Canadian visitor visa, you are no longer in Canada legally and you may face inadmissibility, removal from Canada, and difficulty obtaining a visa/entry to Canada in the future.

So let me explain further what happens to you, if you overstay your Canadian visitor visa.

·       Loss of Legal Status: Overstaying puts you out of legal status in Canada.

·       Inadmissibility: You may be found inadmissible to Canada, which can result in a removal order.

·       Removal Orders: You may face a removal order that may be a departure order (leaving within 30 days), exclusion order (banned from Canada for a year) or deportation order (prohibited from entering Canada)

·       Negative Effect on Future/ Current Applications: Staying beyond your allowed time can have a downside on future applications for visas or permits to enter Canada. If you have a current Permanent Residency application in process and you are urrently under isitor status in Canada which you have overstayed, this might impact your application as many programs require you to maintain your legal status while in Canada. Always refer to the requirements of the particular PR program.

 ·       Border Consequences: You may have difficulty exiting Canada, or entering at some later time.

·       Possible Penalties: In some cases, overstaying can lead to fines or even imprisonment.

·       Restoration of Status: If you overstay by less than 90 days, you may be able to apply to restore your visitor status, but there is no guarantee of approval.
