Super Visa

What is Super Visa

-          Multiple Entry temporary Visa

-          Issued to a foreign national who seeks to visit their Canadian citizen or permanent resident child or grandchild for extended periods of authorized stay 

-          Validity upto 10 years.

-          5 years of authorized stay on each entry

 

Eligibility

1.      Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents

2.      to be applied from outside Canada.

3.      meet the requirements for temporary residence in Canada as a visitor.

Requirements:

1.      Eligible Sponsor/ Host – Co-Signer

Only biological or adopted children may invite their parents or grandparents.

a.      is the child or grandchild of the foreign national (Biological or Adopted)

a.      They may also invite the spouse or common-law partner of their parent or grandparent.

b.     is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident,

c.      is at least 18 years of age,

d.     resides in Canada, and

e.      meets or exceeds the minimum necessary income.

 

2.      Medical Admissibility to be proven as per Section 38 of IRPA- Required to submit proof of immigration medical exam

3.      Health Insurance Policy : Need to Provide valid health insurance from:

a.       a Canadian insurance company or

b.     an insurance company outside Canada that is approved.

c.      be valid for a minimum of 1 year from the date of entry

d.     cover the applicant for health care, hospitalization and repatriation

e.      provide a minimum of $100,000 emergency coverage 

 

4.      Letter Of Invitation – Letter of Invitation written and signed by the host child or grandchild. An eligible spouse or common-law partner of the host may co-sign the letter of invitation to have their income count toward the minimum necessary income.

Apart from the regular information sponsor must include following Information in the Invitation Letters.

-          a promise of financial support for the duration of your visit

-          the list and number of people included in your family size to determine the minimum necessary income

 

5.      Minimum Necessary Income(MNI) - the host must provide proof that they meet or exceed the minimum necessary income for the Family Size count.
