A Canada Visitor Visa and a Tourist Visa are essentially the same. Both fall under the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) category, allowing travellers to visit Canada temporarily for tourism or personal visits. There is no distinction between the two terms in this context.

When applying for a visa, you will be applying for a visitor visa, which serves the same purpose as a tourist visa. This TRV is a document (or vignette) placed in your passport, confirming that you meet the requirements to enter Canada for the reason stated in your application.

Visitor visas are issued to individuals travelling to Canada for tourism, family visits, or leisure. However, visitors are not permitted to work or study in Canada and are not eligible for public benefits.

Note: None of the above statements are legal advice and are not meant to be the same for everyone. You must check the latest policy from the IRCC website before applying. Although everything is clearly stated on the official website, you can seek legal advice if you don't understand something.
