Often, I come across this query, the workers under PGWP seem to be confused whether their spouse can apply for Open Work Permit (OWP) if they are not working or lost their job. Somehow, they are under the wrong impression as their job status does not impact on their spouse’s OWP application.  

Let’s look at what IRCC is saying about the eligibility of OWP applicants.

Here, they clearly mentioned that your spouse’s OWP will remain valid even if you (PGWP holder) lose your job.
