The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) allows skilled workers to immigrate to Saskatchewan under its Occupations In-Demand and Express Entry streams. The very first step in this process is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), so it remains very important. The guide will provide you with information on creating and submitting an EOI, what to expect next, and key factors to ensure success.

What Is EOI?

An EOI is an Expression of Interest. It is an application used to assess your eligibility for the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. It is not an official application. The EOI is a way for you to express your qualifications and interest in immigrating to Saskatchewan in this regard. This allows applicants to show how they meet the eligibility requirements and therefore be included in a pool and ranked on various factors such as work experience, language competency, and ties to the province. Highest-ranked applicants will receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) only.

Eligibility for Submitting an EOI

In order to submit the expression of interest, you have to qualify under at least one of these streams:
1.    Occupations In-Demand: For applicants with skills in occupations which are in high demand in Saskatchewan.
2.    Express Entry: For applicants who are already in the Express Entry pool of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
You cannot submit one expression of interest under both streams.

Steps to Create EOI Profile

1.    Enter the SINP Portal

Visit the SINP homepage and go to the International Skilled Worker EOI system.

2.    Fill in Necessary Information

For profile creation, you will have to answer questions and provide information such as:
•    Passport number and date of birth.
•    Do you have an immigration representative?
•    Confirm that you intend to live and work in Saskatchewan.
•    Job offer status (if any).
•    Express Entry profile number (if any).
•    Occupation (this must comply with the SINP's In-Demand List).
•    Education Credential Assessment (ECA) status.
•    Documentation from a Saskatchewan or national regulatory body (if required).
•    Results of the language test and points earned.

3.    Submission of EOI

After the form has been filled out, verify its correctness and then submit it. Confirmation of submission will be given, and your profile will be in the EOI pool.

After Submission: The EOI Pool and Selection Process

•    Validity: The EOI is valid for one year. If not selected in that year, it must be resubmitted.
•    Ranking: Candidates are ranked according to different factors such as work experience, education, language skills, and provincial ties.
•    Invitations to Apply (ITAs): The SINP conducts regular EOI Draws to invite top-ranked candidates. ITAs will be sent by email; you will use the EOI login to submit your full application.
Take note that candidates do not always receive ITAs; occupations may be prioritized because of Saskatchewan labour market needs.

Maintaining Your EOI Profile

•    Updates: If any changes occur with your situations, such as if you receive a new job offer or wish to increase your language score, you must cancel your prior EOI and submit a new profile. You cannot change your EOI once submitted.
•    Accuracy: Providing any incorrect or insufficient information will lead to your profile being refused. So be sure to verify all information!

Key Considerations

1.    Labour Market Demand: SINP may restrict ITAs for occupations that are in more than enough supply. Check Saskatchewan's Labour Market Information page for reference.
2.    One Profile Rule: One active EOI is allowed only. Submitting more than one profile could lead to disqualification.
3.    Express Entry Link: If applying through Express Entry, make sure you are accepted into IRCC's pool before submitting the EOI

Final Tips

•    Monitor your email for ITAs and SINP updates.
•    Improve your ranking by enhancing language scores or gaining relevant work experience.
•    Consult the SINP EOI Guide and FAQs for clarification.

Submitting an EOI will open doors to migrating to Saskatchewan. To maximize chances of receiving an ITA and getting closer to realizing your Canadian dreams, it's essential to understand requirements, maintain an accurate profile, and stay informed on labour market trend shifts.
