Often, I see my clients ask this question as there is NO black and white guideline about this amount which is sufficient for Canada visitor visa application. However, IRCC has described how the officer examines in their operational instructions and guidelines. I am sharing the relevant excerpt related to financial support.
All the above points are mostly understandable, and you probably can come up with a math to find out a safe amount of the fund. However, I would like to draw your special attention to the red underlined sections.
Many a time, you may be lucky enough to have a relative or friend to host you. But there may be a downside to it. You may be so excited about explaining the relationship between you and your host in Canada but forget to explain what you have in back home. That may put you in a jeopardized situation where officer may think that you have strong connections in Canada but not in your home country. This ultimately may turn out to have a faith that you won’t leave Canada at the end of your stay and therefore getting refusal notice is almost unavoidable. You can say having a host in Canada is just like the fire, with proper use of it you can do many things but improper use may cause deadly consequences.
So, what are my tips ??
No matter whether you have a host in Canada or not, please always do the followings:
- · provide a clear explanation of your purpose for the visit.
- · show the amount of money you will be needing for the entire visit including traveling cost, accommodation (if rented), food, transportation within the Canada, shopping and medical (if needed).
- · show your source of financial sources (job / business/ property selling / gifted by parents or someone etc.).
- · not mandatory but it will surely be taking a great gesture on your application if you can share your Tax documents for the previous year(s). You need to understand that to enjoy Canada’s air and water is also subjected to paying Tax. Haha.
