You can enter Canada and remain there for up to five years at a time if you have a Super Visa.
Important points:
Initial stay: For a maximum of five years.
Extensions: During your time in Canada, you may request to stay an additional two years.
The Super Visa itself permits repeated entries and is valid for a maximum of ten years.
This visa, which permits far longer stays than standard visiting visas, is intended only for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
You can spend five years at a time visiting your children or grandchildren with a super visa. For a maximum of ten years, this visa allows for multiple entries.
A super visa has certain limitations, such as the requirement for health insurance. To be eligible, you have to fulfil all the requirements.
How long you can stay in Canada may depend on when you apply for your super visa.
Applied before June 22, 2023
As a bearer of a super visa, you must make sure that your passport is valid while you are in Canada and renew or maintain your health insurance while you are there.
Applied on or after June 22, 2023.
You can stay for up to five years at a time in that case.
Note: None of the above statements are legal advice and are not meant to be the same for everyone. You must check the latest policy from the IRCC website before applying. Everything is stated clearly on the official website, still if you don't understand something, you can seek legal advice.
