Streams for Workers

This stream is particularly aimed for foreign nationals who are working or planning to work in Alberta. It also prioritizes applicants with job offers and relevant experience in high-demand sectors.  

1. Tourism and Hospitality Stream
By and large, this path is intended for someone who is currently employed in the Alberta's tourism and hospitality scene. The full-time job offer must be received from an eligible employer in this sector to work in Alberta further. This helps to sustain that industry, which is indeed an important earner for the province.  

2. Alberta Opportunity Stream
Available to all temporary residents already working in Alberta, candidates applying for this stream should have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer in addition to other conditions. It's a general channel for skilled workers in almost any field but emphasizes integration for the long haul into Alberta economy.  

3. Alberta Express Entry Stream

1. Rural Entrepreneur Stream 
Individuals wishing to open a new business or purchase an already-existing one in Alberta's rural regions may submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The Rural Entrepreneur Stream boosts economic growth in small communities nestled far from major cities. 

2. Graduate Entrepreneur Stream  
International graduates from approved Alberta post-secondary institutions may apply if their intention is to start or buy a business in Alberta. The Graduate Entrepreneur Stream concentrates on graduating individuals who understand Alberta's business environment.  

3. Farm Stream  
This stream is available for experienced farmers with the skills and finance for establishing or buying a farm in Alberta. The government deems farming one of the pillars of the provincial economy, and thus this stream directly assists the agricultural sector.  

4. Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Start-ups could thus be pursued by foreign graduates with degrees earned at institutions outside Canada. Partnership with a designated agency is required for an applicant in relation to the EOI submission in a manner consistent with provincial innovation goals.
