Difference between obtaining Permanent Residency by Express Entry Program 🆚 Provincial Nominee Program

➡️Permanent Residency is the status granted to individuals who have successfully gone through the immigration process and are allowed to live and work in Canada on a long-term basis.
➡️ There are various immigration programs through which individuals can obtain permanent residency, including Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), family sponsorship, and others.

Express Entry Program

➡️Express Entry is a points-based system ( it is not a status) used to select candidates for permanent residency in Canada.
➡️Express Entry is one pathway to obtain permanent residency in Canada, but it is not the only route.
➡️Candidates eligible for one of the three federal economic immigration programs (Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class) can create an Express Entry profile.
➡️The profile is assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors like age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and others.
➡️Periodically, the government conducts Express Entry draws, inviting candidates with the highest CRS scores to apply for permanent residence.

Provincial Nominee Program

➡️Provincial Nominee Program is a pathway for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada, which is administered by individual provinces and territories and nominates individuals who wish to settle in a particular province.

➡️Each province and territory sets its own eligibility criteria tailored to its economic needs and labor market demands considering factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and ties to the province.

➡️Each province and territory has its own nomination process. Generally, candidates must apply to the province for nomination, and if nominated, they receive additional points in the Express Entry system.
