Let's break it down. To answer this question, we need to first understand what is a visitor record?
It is an official document that gives you the option of temporarily staying beyond your initial authorized period. This document in any capacity by itself DOES NOT GRANT YOU WORK AUTHORIZATION IN CANADA.
Important points-
• Work without authorization is illegal and can make you inadmissible.
• Visitor record ONLY extends your ABILITY to remain temporarily in Canada.
• Visitor record doesn't authorize any foreign national to ENTER Canada. They still need valid visa or ETA.
• If foreign national doesn't have ETA or VISA, they need to apply for one irrespective of if they have Visitor record or not.
If you’re interested in working in Canada, you'll need to apply for the appropriate work permit or determine if you qualify for a work permit exemption. This typically requires applying from outside Canada or meeting specific eligibility criteria to apply from within Canada.
