PGWP has been done on time, the Maintained status letter has been received, but even after 180 days, the final approval/decision of PGWP has not been received. Can you continue working in this situation? What should be done in this situation? This is one of the very frequently asked questions by the PGWP applicants.

Yes, in this situation, you can continue working. The IRCC website clearly states that to support this situation, I have attached the evidence in this post. However, some employers may not want to accept this. So, if you see a delay, you can request proof of authorization by sending a web form to the IRCC website.

Pro-tip

You must not expect that IRCC will send your proof of authorization within 2 days of submitting the web form. So, I would say that at least 1 month before the expiry date mentioned in your IMM 0127 E letter, you can ask your employer with reference to the evidence given in this article whether they will allow you to continue working or will proof of authorization be required.

If they accept it, it's good, because the evidence is taken directly from the IRCC website. If they don't accept it, you can quickly send a web form and ask for proof of authorization. Because it takes on average of 3-4 weeks to get a reply / action on the web form.

Note: None of the above statements are legal advice and are not meant to be the same for everyone. You must check the latest policy from the IRCC website before applying. Everything is stated clearly on the official website, still if you don't understand something, you can seek legal advice.
