The Super Visa is a great option for parents and grandparents who want to visit Canada for an extended period. Unlike a Visitor Visa, which allows stays of up to six months, the Super Visa permits visits of up to five years per entry and provides multiple entries for up to 10 years.

One of the requirements to be eligible for a Super Visa is that the child or grandchild you wish to visit must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or First Nations member who is 18 years or older.

If your child or grandchild is on a temporary status (such as a work or study permit), they do not qualify as sponsors for a Super Visa. Instead, you may need to apply for a Visitor Visa or explore other immigration options.
