No, you cannot get a second Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) if you have already been issued one. The PGWP is a one-time opportunity for international students who have graduated from a PGWP-eligible program at a designated learning institution.

If your initially issued PGWP has expired and you still have no pathway to Permanent Residency and no other means to extend your work permit in Canada, and you are thinking to get admission in another study program to get another PGWP, then you might need to reconsider your decision as getting another PGWP is not possible.

However, if you want to work in Canada after your existing PGWP expires, you have a few options:

  • Apply for another type of work permit (e.g., employer-specific work permit if you have a job offer).

  • Pursue further studies in a new eligible program and explore other immigration pathways, such as the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) under Express Entry.

  • Check if you’re eligible for a PGWP extension (for example, if the government announces special measures or a temporary public policy).

Also, it is to be noted that Graduating from a DLI doesn’t automatically make you eligible for a PGWP as the eligibility requirements for a PGWP have changed since November 1, 2024.

Visit the link to the Canada's official website to know whether your program is eligible for a PGWP or not.
